Every down duvet is quilted, forming square chambers, in a checkered pattern. There are vertical bars between the upper- and the lower layer fabric. Many manufacturers just sew through those squares, creating a cold bridge and stripping the duvet from it warming properties.

Down duvets need plenty of fresh air in the morning so they can release the moisture, which they absorb during your sleep. Open the bedroom window and gently shake up your bedding. It is possible that the filling shifts within the cover of a down product. If this should be the case, it is recommended to redistribute them by hand from time to time.
We recommend washing down duvets and feather pillows once a year.
For this purpose, use a pH-neutral, liquid mild detergent. We recommend a washing program with a spin cycle. The spin cycle has to be repeated, as down and feathers can absorb their own weight in water manifold. Later, tumble dry at 100° C. Shake up the products every 30 minutes to reduce the drying time. Drying time can take from about 60 up to 120 minutes, depending on the size of the tumble dryer.
